Irma Marie (Windau) Machuga

Irma Marie Machuga, 88, of Staunton, IL, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.  She was born June 17, 1937 in New Douglas, IL, the daughter of the late August & Alma (Schoen) Windau.  She married Steve Machuga on June 25, 1960, & he passed away on January 27, 2005.

Irma was a homemaker & member of Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, the Ladies Aid of the church, & served at His Service Station in Staunton, IL.

She is survived by three daughters -  Donna Eddington of Staunton, IL,  Debbie Heepke (Tom Lenahan) of Maryville, IL,  &  Denise Machuga of Staunton, IL;  three grandchildren -  Kyle (Erin) Heepke,  Chad (Dom) Heepke,  &  Jace Eddington;  one great grandchild -  Rory Heepke;  four siblings -  Elaine Milcic,  Marvin (Jean) Windau,  Myra (Paul) Poehling,  &  Maynard Windau;  a sister-in-law -  Sandy Windau;  & several nieces & nephews also survive.  Besides her husband & parents, she was preceded in death by one brother -  Leonard Windau;  one brother-in-law -  Richard Milcic;  &  one sister-in-law -  Gladys Windau.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 AM on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, IL.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, IL, with Pastor Phil Girardin officiating.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL.

Memorials are suggested to either Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton or to the Staunton Food Pantry.
