Herman E. Smith

Herman E. Smith, 85, of Worden, Illinois, passed away at 9:10 PM on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at his residence near Worden, Illinois.  He was born October 15, 1937 in East St. Louis, Illinois, the son of the late Don & Wilmoth (Swain) Smith.  He married Janice Y. Radford on December 17, 1955 & she passed away on February 20, 2008.

Herman was a Quality Manager at Granite City Steel in Granite City, Illinois for 43 years, & was a member of the Worden Christian Church in Worden, Illinois.

He is survived by 1 daughter - Donna (Roger) Graves of Worden, IL;  1 son - Brian (Rebecca) Smith of Monclove, Ohio;  5 grandchildren - Seth (Alicia) Yates, Rebecca (Jim) LoDuca, Jeremy (Courtney) Yates, Bradley (Gabriella) Stumpf, & Micaela Collins;  16 great grandchildren & 2 great great grandchildren;  1 sister - Ruth Ann Hoagland of Birch Tree, Missouri;  & several nieces & nephews.  Besides his wife & parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter - Annette Christine Smith;  2 brothers - Herschel & Don Smith;  & 1 sister - Susan Moss.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, Illinois.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 11 AM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, with burial in Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville, Illinois.  Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
