Gloria F. (Smiddy) Hopper

Gloria F. Hopper, 80, of Litchfield, Illinois - formerly of Staunton, Illinois, passed away at 4:15 PM on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at her residence in Litchfield, Illinois.  She was born November 10, 1939 in East St. Louis, Illinois, the daughter of the late Arthur Stevenson & Edna Marie (Krieg) Smiddy.  She was married to Lowell Dean Hopper on May 18, 1956 & he passed away on September 22, 2009.  

She was employed as an Assembly Worker at Roller Derby in Litchfield, IL for many years.  She also worked in the Housekeeping Department at Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton, IL, & volunteered at Litchfield Fire Department for years.

She is survived by a daughter - Dixie McDaniel of New Athens, IL; a granddaughter - Debra Hopper of Mt. Olive, IL; 3 great grandchildren - Lukas, Ashlynn, & Christopher; a brother - Gordon Smiddy of Hillsboro, IL; & a sister - Myrna Everett of Carlyle, IL.  

No services are scheduled at this time.  Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.
