Gloria (Brun) Garino

Gloria Garino, 94, of Staunton, IL, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022, at The Glenwood in Staunton, IL. Born August 30, 1927, in Williamson, IL, she was a daughter of the late Leandro Brun and Anna (Hasko) Brun. She married Aldo Garino on June 28, 1958, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livingston, IL and he passed away on December 21, 2013.

She was a graduate of Livingston High School in Livingston, IL and a graduate of St. Louis Business School in St. Louis, MO. Gloria worked at Western Cartridge in Alton, IL from 1946 to 1951, then at Mallinckrodt Chemical in St. Louis, MO until after her marriage. She later worked at Sears Catalog Store in Staunton, IL in the early 1970’s. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Staunton. Gloria was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She cared for other family members in their times of need.

She is survived by 2 Sons - Robert (Melissa) Garino – Columbia, Missouri and Terry Garino – Albuquerque, New Mexico, 4 Grandchildren -Anthony Garino – Las Vegas, Nevada, Mia, Olivia, & Charles Garino – Columbia, Missouri, 2 Sisters - Flo Stewart – Chesterfield, Missouri and Nancy Brun – St. Peters, Missouri. Several Nieces & a Nephew also survive.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 29, 2022, at 10 AM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with Father Tom Hagstrom officiating. Burial will be held at Staunton City Cemetery in Staunton, IL.

Memorials are suggested to either St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Staunton or to the Staunton Education Foundation.
