Gloria J. (Weber) Behnen

Gloria J. Behnen, 94, of Staunton, IL, went home to be with the Lord at 4:04 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Staunton Health & Rehab Center in Staunton, IL.  She was born October 9, 1931 in Germantown, PA, the daughter of the late Frederick G. & Verna (Reamer) Weber.  She married Wayne E. Behnen on September 25, 1970 at Willow Grove Naval Air Station in Pennsylvania, & he preceded her in death on August 6, 2009.

Gloria was a loving wife & mother & had been a former member of the Ambler Ambulance Association as a dispatcher & an attendant.  She was also active as a youth group leader at the United Methodist Church in Ambler, PA.  She was a Cub Scout leader, soccer team Mom, Minister of Light Coordinator for Chino Valley United Methodist Church in Chino Valley, AZ, & also volunteered with the Care Club Group that later became known as The Good Neighbors for 20 years.  She was a 57 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 125, serving as Secretary, Vice President, & President.  She also served as Secretary for the Staunton Senior Citizens.

She retired from the U.S. Census Bureau in Arizona after 20 years of service.

Gloria is survived by five children -  David (Lori) Davies of Alton, IL,  Margaret Goodall of Chino Valley, AZ,  Ralph Davies of Staunton, IL,  Melia (Jeff) Lenhardt of Staunton, IL,  &  Greg (Lisa) Behnen of Festus, MO;  15 grandchildren;  18 great grandchildren;  &  two great great grandchildren.  Besides her husband & parents, she was preceded in death by one son -  Willis LeRoy Davies Jr.
