Glenn F. Buffington, 74, of Staunton, IL, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. He was born January 17, 1950 in Litchfield, IL, the son of the late Norrigan & Edith (Wray) Buffington. He married Debra Ann Paris on June 17, 1972 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton, IL & she survives.
Glenn was a meat cutter at Bill's IGA in Staunton, IL for over 40 years. He also served in the U.S. Army in the "101st Airborne" during the Vietnam War, & was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Staunton & Staunton Knights of Columbus #2197. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, watching his grandchildren play sports, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, landscaping, & beating the family at "Wheel of Fortune". He was a past St. Michael's School basketball coach.
Glenn is survived by his wife - Debra Buffington of Staunton, IL; three children - Robyn (Terry) Albrecht, Cory (Tammy) Buffington, & Jessica (Ben) Gillen; four grandchildren - Chloe Albrecht, Brady Gillen, Carson & Luke Buffington; two brothers - Earl (Karen) Buffington & Mark (Valerie) Buffington; one sister - Lana Hebenstreit; sister-in-law & brother-in-law - Donna & Terry Pritchett; & several nieces & nephews also survive. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law & mother-in-law - Aldo & Gladys Paris; & one brother in infancy - David Buffington.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 AM on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton, IL. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton, with Rev. Thomas Hagstrom officiating. The Staunton Military Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites at Staunton VFW Post #1241 immediately following the Memorial Mass.
Memorials are suggested to either St. Michael Catholic Church of Staunton, the American Diabetes Association, or to the Staunton Patriot Club
