Gilbert G. Best Sr.

Gilbert G. Best Sr, 91 of Staunton, IL died Friday, September 11, 2020 at Heritage Health in Gillespie, IL. Born October 12, 1928 in Staunton, IL, he was a son of the Late Mr. & Mrs. Grover D & Gertrude (Oehler) Best. He married Anna Mae Karl on April 28, 1951 and she died on February 19, 1998. He worked as a self- employed farmer and worked at LaClede Steel in Alton, IL for many years. Gilbert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by 3 Children, Linda A. Best, Gilbert G. (Cheryl) Best Jr. of Staunton, IL and Mary G. (Tom) Kroeger of Staunton, IL, 6 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, 1 Sister Marietta Schnaare of Staunton, IL. Several Nieces & Nephews also survive. Besides his wife & parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Sister, Ruth Zirges.

Private family services will be held later. Memorials are suggested to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
