Frances M. (Dumont) Augustine

Our beloved Frances Augustine, 95, of Livingston, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at her residence in Livingston, IL.  She was born May 28, 1930 in Litchfield, IL, the daughter of the late Joseph J. & Jennie (Perrone) Dumont.  She married William C. Augustine in 1950 at the Courthouse in Edwardsville, IL, & were married for 75 years.

She graduated from Livingston High School in 1947 & attended Illinois State University.  She was employed as a teacher in the Livingston School District for many years & was owner & office manager for Livingston Propane for 62 years.  She was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livingston, IL, & an active member of the Sacred Heart Altar & Rosary Society.

Frances was a special lady that touched the hearts of many.  She will be missed by all those she touched.

She is survived by her husband of 75 years -  William C. Augustine of Livingston, IL;  two sons -  William J. (Maureen) Augustine  &  Jeffrey (Donna) Augustine;  grandchildren -  Christopher Augustine,  Lindsey & Danny Lyday,  Zachery Augustine,  Tabi Jost,  Shelby & Ben Stedman;  great grandchildren -  Alex Lyday,  Nolan Augustine,  Tyler Lyday,  Isabelle Lyday,  Summer Lyday,  &  Joelle Stedman.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter -  Patricia (Augustine) Poos;  her brother & sister-in-law -  Jim & Betty (Andrews) Dumont;  & one nephew -  James J. Dumont.

Visitation will be from 9 AM to 11 AM on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livingston, IL.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livingston, IL, with Father Thomas Hagstrom officiating.  Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Livingston, IL.

Memorials are suggested to either Sacred Heart Altar & Rosary Society or to the Staunton Education Foundation.
