Florence Rose (Balen) Felchner

Florence Rose Felchner, 102, of Staunton, IL, passed away at 4:25 AM on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Staunton Health & Rehab Center in Staunton, IL.  She was born March 4, 1921 in Sawyerville, IL, the daughter of the late Marko & Anna (Perkovich) Balen.  She married Charles C. Felchner on August 31, 1944 in Sawyerville, IL & he passed away in 2007.

Florence worked as a private secretary for several large companies in St. Louis, MO.  She also worked as a secretary/receptionist for Dr. Dean Raft in Staunton, IL for 20 years.  She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Staunton, IL & also a member of the Croatian Lodge.

She is survived by two sons -  Edward L. (Paula) Felchner of Chicago, IL,  &  William J. Felchner of Staunton, IL;  three grandchildren -  Adam L. (Esther) Felchner,  Erin L. (Judah) Felchner,  &  Morgan E. (Raj) Naik;  four great grandchildren -  Mara & Morris Rodgon,  &  Mia & Jay Naik;  special friends -  Justin Havron,  Alisha Damm,  Karen Laskach,  &  Zander Havron;  several nieces & nephews also survive.

No services are scheduled.  Private interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL at a later date. 

Memorials are suggested to either St. Michael's Catholic Church of Staunton,  St. Jude Children's Research Hospital,  Shriner's Hospital for Children of St. Louis, MO,  or to the charity of the donor's choice.
