Father George Radosevich

Fr. George Radosevich, a priest of the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois for nearly 57 years, died

on February 19, 2025. He was 90 years old.

Fr. Radosevich was born February 5, 1935, in Collinsville. He was a son of the late Steve and

Mary (Matkovich) Radosevich. He entered the seminary and was ordained June 1, 1968, at the

Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. He happily served various parishes within the

diocese.

Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Albert and Steve and two sisters,

Elizabeth (Tom) Faifer and Josephine (Babe) (Gus) Faifer, his nephew, Michael Faifer and his

great-niece, Jennifer Faifer. He was also preceded in death by his faithful and beloved friend

and housekeeper for twenty-four years, Emma Hoemmen.

A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Michael’s Church, Staunton at 11:30 a.m. on Friday,

March 7th. Bishop Thomas John Paprocki will be the celebrant, with priests of the diocese

concelebrating.
