Eula J. (Evans) Hawkins

Eula J. Hawkins, 87 of Staunton, Illinois passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Heritage Health in Staunton, IL. Born April 8, 1933 in Conway, Arkansas, she was a daughter of the Late Mr. & Mrs. Hubert & Fannie (Graham) Evans. She married Murlin A. Hawkins on July 14, 1954 and he passed away on October 27, 2017. She worked as a bank teller at First National Bank in Grand Tower, IL. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Staunton; Past President of The Order of the Eastern Star; and Past President of the Ladies Golf Association of the Staunton Country Club; and as well as a volunteer at Community Hospital of Staunton.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula (Terry) Hale of Staunton, IL, 4 grandchildren, Heather (Kevin) Goins of Anna, IL, Patrick McLane of Marion, IL, Caleb (Terrie) Hale of Jonesboro, IL, and Zach (Brittney) Hale of Dongola, IL, 4 great grandchildren, Madison Goins, Liam Hale, Hannah Hale, and Everett Hale, 1 sister, Jo Underwood (Oleg) of Staunton, IL. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Victor Murlin Hawkins, 3 brothers, Junior Evans, Frank Evans, and Wendell Evans.

Friends may call from 10 AM to 11 AM on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Private family services will be held at Williamson Funeral Home with Rev. Debbie Jo Atkins officiating. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Staunton.
