Emma (Cheslak) Jacobs

Emma Jacobs, 101, of Staunton, IL, passed away at 3:59 AM on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at The Glenwood Assisted Living Center in Staunton, IL.  She was born April 16, 1924, the daughter of the late Mike & Elona (Kmec) Cheslak.  She married John S. Jacobs on June 21, 1947 & he passed away on October 17, 1990.

Emma graduated from Livingston High School with the Class of 1943.  After high school, Emma began working at Carter Carburetor in St. Louis, MO, & her husband joined her working at Carter's after World War II ended.  Her career at Carter's lasted 38 years.

Emma was the last surviving charter member at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Livingston, IL.  She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, & traveling with her husband & later with family & friends.

She is survived by nieces & nephews -  Robert Hermanns of Staunton, IL,  Scott Stanko of Houston, TX,  Stefan Stanko of Houston, TX,  Sue Stanko of Corpus Christi, TX,  John "Jack" Perrone of Arnold, MO,  Sandra Bond of Staunton, IL,  &  Marci Delaney of Staunton, IL.  Besides her husband & parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters -  Mary Cheslak,  Leona Hermanns,  Elsie Stanko,  &  Ann Cheslak;  sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law -  Bob Hermanns,  George Stanko,  John & Marcella Perrone,  &  Carl & Geraldine Kunz;  & two nieces.

Visitation from 9:30 to 11 AM on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Livingston, IL.  Funeral services at 11 AM on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Livingston, IL, with Pastor Darwin Schrader officiating.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL.
