Emily R. Laughlin

Emily R. Laughlin, 20, of Gillespie, Illinois, passed away at 12 noon on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.  She was born September 16, 2002 in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of William & Christina (Harris) Barber & the late Russell Laughlin.  

Emily was a cashier at Randy's Market in Benld, Illinois for two years.  She graduated from Gillespie High School with the Class of 2021 & she attended Lewis & Clark Community College in Godfrey, Illinois for one year.  

She is survived by her parents -  William & Christina Barber of Gillespie, Illinois;  two brothers -  Devin Laughlin & William Barber;  grandparents -  Ronald J. Harris,  Kathy Harris,  Elizabeth Barber,  Susan & Jerry Heaton,  Fred & Melissa Laughlin;  great grandmother -  Marie Harris.  Besides her biological father, she was preceded in death by her grandfather -  Ron Barber.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11 AM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, with Pastor Derrick Taylor officiating.  Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, Illinois.  Memorials are suggested to either St. Jude Research Hospital or to the Carol Jo Vecchie Women & Children's Center in Springfield, Illinois.
