Emily (Raspica) DeGuire

Emily DeGuire 94 of Staunton, Illinois passed away at her residence in Staunton on Sunday, April 28, 2019. Born August 27, 1924 in Staunton, Illinois, she was a daughter of the Late Mr. & Mrs. John & Catherine (Casic) Raspica. She married Lawrence R. DeGuire on August 22, 1943 & he passed away on November 4, 2014. Emily was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton for 71 years.

She is survived by a Daughter - Margaret DeGuire (Richard Supanich) of St. Louis, Missouri; Son - John DeGuire (Kathy Cook) of Eugene, Oregon; 3 Grandchildren - Michael Smith, James Smith, & Elizabeth Rosenthal; 4 Great Grandchildren - Seamus, Finley, Brooke, Mackenzie; 1 Sister - Mary Hicks of Bell Flower, Missouri; 1 Son-In-Law - Mike Smith Sr. of Staunton, Illinois. Numerous Nieces & Nephews also survive. Besides her husband & parents, she was preceded in death by – 2 Daughters - Barbara Smith & Catherine DeGuire (infancy); 1 Son - Lawrence DeGuire Jr.; 1 Daughter-In-Law - Nancy Stone.

Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 11 AM on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton, Illinois. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 AM with Father George Radosevich officiating. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, Illinois.
