Elizabeth Amanda "Betsy" (Ebbesmeyer) Hemann

Elizabeth Amanda "Betsy" Hemann, 77, of New Douglas, IL, passed away at 3:09 AM on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Litchfield Health & Rehab Center in Litchfield, IL.  She was born June 3, 1947 in St. Charles, MO, the daughter of the late Leonard & Margaret (Harrmann) Ebbesmeyer.  She married Larry Hemann on October 25, 1969 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cottleville, MO & he survives.

Betsy was a Nurse at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL for many years.  She was also a very active member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton, The Council of Catholic Women at St. Michael's, & St. Michael's Choir.

She is survived by her husband -  Larry Hemann of New Douglas, IL;  two brothers -  James (Colleen) Ebbesmeyer of St. Louis, MO,  &  David (Debbie) Ebbesmeyer of Des Peres, MO;  one sister -  Ruth (Bill) Vomund of St. Paul, MO;  numerous nieces & nephews also survive.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers -  Lambert Ebbesmeyer & his wife Carolyn Ebbesmeyer,  &  Frank Ebbesmeyer;  & one sister -  Vivian Ebbesmeyer.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton, IL, with Rev. Thomas Hagstrom officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Father McGivney High School in Maryville, IL.
