Edward "Eddie" Blotevogel, 91, of Worden, IL, passed away at 9:40 AM on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. He was born October 14, 1932 in Worden, IL, the son of the late Edward & Dorothea (Finke) Blotevogel.
Eddie served his country as a clerk in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he worked as the sexton for the village of Worden & was the Building & Groundskeeper for Trinity Lutheran Church, Parish Hall, & School in Worden for over 50 years.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Worden, IL; Worden American Legion Post #564; Staunton VFW Post #1241, retired member of Worden Volunteer Fire Department; & a past member of both the Worden Sportsman's Club & the Worden Lions Club.
He is survived by a brother - Dan Blotevogel of Worden, IL; one nephew - Scott (Kathy) Blotevogel of Worden, IL; & a great nephew - Daniel Blotevogel of Worden, IL. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law - Laura Blotevogel; & a nephew - Rob Blotevogel.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 AM on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden, IL. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden, IL The Staunton Military Guard & Worden American Legion Post #564 will conduct military rites at church following the memorial service. Private interment will be held at a later date.
