Dorothy M. (Albrecht) Braasch

Dorothy M. (Albrecht) Braasch, 92, of Dorsey, Illinois, passed away at 8:03 PM on Friday, February 3, 2023 at her son's residence near Dorsey, Illinois.  She was born March 15, 1930 in Worden, Illinois, the daughter of the late John & Martha (Kwiatkowski) Albrecht.  She married Charles E. Braasch on April 14, 1951 in Dorsey, Illinois & he preceded her in death on March 16, 2015.

Dorothy worked as a Secretary for L&M Railroad until the birth of her first child, & was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Midway, Illinois.

She is survived by one son -  David A. (Sharon) Braasch of Dorsey, IL;  one daughter -  Vivian E. (Dr. Robert) Childers of Dorsey, IL;  grandchildren -  Heather (Jon) Baumberger,  Andrea (Nate) Hartley,  Ethan Braasch,  Caleb Braasch,  & Robert C. "Bobby" Childers;  step grandchildren -  Sarah (Brandon) Bosarge, &  James Childers;  great grandchildren -  Ava Baumberger,  Mia Baumberger,  Hank Hartley,  Tessa Jo Hartley,  Cyler Hartley,  & Audrey Bosarge;  many nieces & nephews also survive.  

Besides her husband & parents, she was preceded in death by one brother -  John Albrecht Jr. (& his wife Helen);  brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law -  Marie Franke,  Wilma Engelke,  & Ralph Braasch;  & a great granddaughter -  Corinne Bosarge.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Midway, Illinois.  Visitation will continue on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 10 to 10:30 AM at St. John's United Church of Christ in Midway, Illinois.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 10:30 AM at St. John's United Church of Christ in Midway, Illinois, with burial in Prairietown Cemetery in Prairietown, Illinois.  Memorials are suggested to either St. John's United Church of Christ in Midway, IL or to Alton Memorial Health Services Foundation in Alton, illinois.
