Donald W. "Don" Brunnworth

Donald W. "Don" Brunnworth, 76, of Staunton, IL, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at his residence near Staunton, IL.  He was born August 10, 1949 in Highland, IL, the son of the late Lawrence Paul & Laura Anna (Sievers) Brunnworth.  He married Marilyn Bernadette Bono on September 15, 1973 in Staunton, IL & she survives.

Don was the Chief Financial Officer at Community Memorial Hospital of Staunton, IL for 40 years, retiring in 2012.  He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton, IL, & a U.S. Army veteran.  He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, fishing, & watching sports on TV.

He is survived by his wife -  Marilyn Brunnworth of Staunton, IL;  two sons -  David (Melissa) Brunnworth of Staunton, IL,  &  Gregory (Jamie) Brunnworth of Staunton, IL;  four grandchildren -  Dalton,  Carter,  Avery,  &  Emma;  one sister -  Janet (Alvin) Wilkening of Hamel, IL;  & two step brothers -  Roger (Pat) Heflin of Mt. Olive, IL  &  Larry (Donna) Heflin of Rochester, MI.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step mother -  Eileen Brunnworth;  his in-laws -  Bert & Rita Bono;  & a brother-in-law -  Charlie Bono.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 AM on Monday, October 27, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, IL.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, October 27, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, IL, with Pastor Phil Girardin officiating.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to either Community Hospital of Staunton, Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton, or Zion Lutheran School of Staunton, IL.
