Debrah (Main) Barber

Debrah Barber, 74, of Benld, Illinois, passed away at 6:00 AM on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at her son's residence in Gillespie, Illinois.  She was born June 23, 1948 in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of the late Richard Edward & Clema (Maybell) Main.  She married Arthur Barber Jr. on July 10, 1967 & he preceded her in death on March 11, 2022.

She was a homemaker/military wife & enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, family, & friends, & enjoyed her sister days as a "Red Hatter".  She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gillespie, Illinois.

Debrah is survived by two sons -  Andrew (Melinda) Barber of Gillespie, IL, & Timothy (Sara) Barber of Sawyerville, IL;  eight grandchildren -  Dakotah (Emily), Morgan, Abigail, Mason (Kendra), Connor, Katy, John Allen, & Shawne Copeland;  one sister -  Ramona (Melvin) Highfill of Jerseyville, IL;  Numerous Nieces, Nephews, & Cousins also survive.  Besides her husband & parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers -  Jimmy, Paul, Pete, & Gerald Main;  & four sisters -  Doris Wallace, Joyce Brooks, Bonnie Terril, & Carol Walsh.

Visitation will be from 10 AM to 12 noon on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at First United Methodist Church in Gillespie, Illinois, followed by a short memorial service.  Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.  Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Women of Gillespie.
