David L. Tune

David L. Tune, 85. of Worden, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.  He was born February 5, 1940 in Rolla, MO, the son of the late Hilbert V. & Myrtle (Love) Tun.  He married Caryl King on June 29, 1963 at the Worden Methodist Church in Worden, IL & she survives.

David was employed as an Insurance Producer with Courtesy Insurance Agency in Godfrey, IL for many years.  He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, & was a member of the Worden Volunteer Fire Department, also serving on the Board.  He was also a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Hamel, IL.  He also volunteered with the Hamel Food Pantry/Hamel Food Bank.  David was an avid fisherman, & also enjoyed boating & sailing.

He is survived by his wife -  Caryl Tune of Worden, IL;  one brother -  Ron Tune of Bluffton, SC;  a brother-in-law -  Vernon King of Hazelwood, MO;  nieces & nephews, including great & great-great, also survive.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law -  Pamela Tune  &  Barbara King.

Private graveside services were held at Olive Cemetery near Alhambra, IL.  The Staunton Military Honor Guard conducted graveside military rites.  

Memorials are suggested to either the Worden Volunteer Fire Department or to the Hamel Food Pantry.
