David Herman Schuette

David Herman Schuette, 82, of Staunton, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Staunton Health & Rehab Center in Staunton, IL.  He was born August 2, 1943 in Alhambra, IL, the son of the late Herman L. & Esther (Grosenheider) Schuette.  He married Maxine Seidel in 1970 & they later divorced.  He then married Kathie Koniak on March 17, 2001 in Branson, MO & she passed away on March 22, 2025.

Dave was employed as an Operating Engineer for over 46 years out of Local #520.  He was a U.S. Army veteran, a charter member of Staunton American Legion Post #362, a member of Staunton VFW Post #1241, a member of Walshville Masonic Lodge #475, & a former Shriner.  He enjoyed panning for gold, camping, fishing, & BBQing with his family & friends.

He is survived by one daughter -  Angela (Phil) Callovini of Holiday Shores, IL;  two grandchildren -  Austin & Madalyn Callovini;  step children -  John Wesbrook of Bunker Hill, IL,  Randy Koniak of Benld, IL,  &  Robin (D.J.) Morgan of Litchfield, IL;  step grandchildren -  Beth (Jules) Bartony,  Heather (Nelson) Delvalle,  Dylan Sugg,  Stephen Koniak,  Sydney Zippman,  Mattison Morgan,  Devan Morgan,  &  Jordan Morgan;  step great grandchildren -  Joplin,  Kade,  Bianka,  Beatriz,  &  Bastian;  three sisters -  Gay Anschutz,  Joy Furey,  &  Jane Blotevogel;  & numerous nieces & nephews also survive.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers -  Daniel Schuette  &  Joseph Schuette.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL.  Funeral services will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL, with Pastor Nancy Hubert officiating.  The Staunton Military Honor Guard will conduct graveside rites immediately following the funeral.
