Darryl Henke

Darryl Henke, 61, of Sorento, IL - formerly of Staunton, IL, passed away at 6:30 PM on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at his residence.  He was born December 8, 1964 in Albuquerque, NM, the son of the late Maurice & Christa (Kreuz) Henke.  He married Wanda Cordani & they later divorced.  He then married Andrea Kirchner & she passed away in 2024.

Darryl was employed as a Rural Mail Carrier in Staunton, IL through the U.S. Postal Service for over 25 years, & will be remembered for the simple joys that brought him happiness.  He was a proud Army veteran, a reflection of his dedication & service to his country.  He loved riding motorcycles, spending time fishing, watching the Cardinals & old Westerns, & working in his shed.  Above all, Darryl cherished being with his family & friends, creating lasting memories with those he loved most.

He is survived by two children -  Joshua (Grace) Henke of Lexington, SC,  &  Whitney (Taylor) Breen of Olathe, KS;  four grandchildren -  Elliot Henke,  &  Brooks,  Brady,  &  Beau Breen;  one brother -  Bryan Henke of Alvin, TX;  & several nieces, nephews, & cousins also survive.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL, with burial following services at Spangle Cemetery near Livingston, IL.  The Staunton Military Honor Guard will conduct graveside military rites.
