Daisy Lee (Sandbach) Dustmann

Daisy Dustmann, 93, of Staunton, Illinois, passed away at 10:33 AM on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, Illinois.  She was born January 18, 1930 in Worden, Illinois, the daughter of the late Richard & Flora (Heinemeier) Sandbach.  She was marred to Melvin C. Dustmann on July 8, 1950 & he passed away on May 18, 2005.

Daisy was primarily a homemaker, but also worked for a time as a waitress at Ruck's Restaurant (DeCamp) near Staunton, Illinois.  She loved to bowl, & also enjoyed line & ballroom dancing.

She is survived by three children -  Cynthia (Leonard) Broderick of Staunton, IL,  Dixie Slazinik of Collinsville, IL,  & Tim Dustmann of Staunton, IL;  six grandchildren -  Jennifer (Brian) Herbeck,  Kelly Slazinik,  Steven (Carol) Slazinik,  Jeffrey (Nicole) Slazinik,  Nikki (Jeremy) Varwig,  & Matt (Chelsy) Dustmann;  thirteen great grandchildren -  Samantha & Stephanie Herbeck,  Jon & Lauren Fereday,  Matthew & James Slazinik,  Gregory Witt,  William & Mia Slazinik,  Elsah Clark,  Adam Varwig,  Daisy & Bo Dustmann;  several nieces & nephews also survive.  Besides her husband & parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter -  Jamie Jo;  & four older siblings -  Dorcas Braasch,  Frances Jones,  Moses Sandbach,  & Grace Boyles.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 AM on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, Illinois.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, with Rev. Nancy Hubert officiating.  Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, Illinois.  Memorials are suggested to either the Alzheimers Association or to DAV (Disabled American Veterans).
