Cletus John Notter

Cletus John Notter, 83, of Staunton, Illinois, passed away at 12:20 AM on Friday, November 8, 2019 at his residence in Staunton, Illinois.  He was born on August 8, 1936 in Waterloo, Illinois, the son of the late Wayne John & Caroline Johanna (Dietz) Notter.  He married Margarette A. Johannsen on June 23, 1959 in Waterloo, Illinois & she survives.  Cletus was employed as a Bus Driver for Gulf Transport in St. Louis, Missouri & later as a mechanic for trucks & farm machinery for several area companies.  He served in the U.S. Navy during the mid to late 1950's & enjoyed boating & fishing....ice fishing too.  He & his family used to boat the Kaskaskia River when the kids were young.

He is survived by his wife, Margarette A. Notter of Staunton, Illinois;  6 children - John (Sharon) Notter of Mulberry Grove, IL, Pam Gall of Greenville, IL, Donna (Dean) Powell of Shattuc, IL, Raymond (Robbin) Notter of White City, IL, Ann (Jerry) Lesemann of Moro, IL, & Robert Notter of Staunton, IL;  18 grandchildren;  14 great grandchildren;  1 sister - MaryKay Schmidt of Waterloo, IL; & numerous nieces & nephews.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers - Raymond & Eugene Notter, & 1 sister - Dorothy Notter

No visitation or services will be held.  Memorials are suggested to either Heartland Hospice or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Hamel, Illinois.
