Cheryl Ann (Eickmeyer) Matesa

Cheryl Ann Matesa, 69, of Benld, IL - formerly of Staunton, IL, passed away at 7:11 AM on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at her residence in Benld, IL.  She was born December 30, 1954 in Litchfield, IL, the daughter of the late Arthur W. & Dolores (Homeier) Eickmeyer.  She married David P. Struebig on February 24, 1973 & they later divorced.  She then married Robert Matesa on March 23, 2002 & they blended their families.  

Cheryl worked as a Bank Teller in Staunton, IL & was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton & New Horizon Band of Godfrey, IL.

She is survived by her husband -  Robert Matesa of Benld, IL;  five children -  Chad (Julie) Matesa,  Kristina May,  Joe Matesa,  Stephen (Teresa) Struebig,  &  Cary (Jason) Foulk;  seven grandchildren -  Janie Milkovich,  Michael Matesa,  Zachary May,  Stephen May,  Olivia Matesa,  Isabella Foulk,  &  Jacob Foulk;  four great grandchildren -  Carson & Chase Milkovich,  &  Blaykelynne & Xander May;  one sister -  Ruth Ann Kilduff;  nieces & nephews also survive.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother-in-law -  Bruno Kilduff,  &  one niece -  Michelle Kay Matesa.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 AM on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, IL.  Memorial services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, IL, with Rev. Phil Girardin officiating.

Memorials are suggested to either Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton or New Horizon Band of Godfrey, IL.
