Charlie Odell Hollaway

Charlie Odell Hollaway, 84, of Livingston, IL, passed away at 5 AM on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at his residence in Livingston, IL.  He was born November 11, 1939 in Pocahontas, Arkansas, the son of the late James G. & Gracie (Rowe) Hollaway.  He married Doris Lynn Scoggins on July 22, 2006 in Worden, IL & she survives.

Charlie was a Forklift Operator at Georgia-Pacific in Mt. Olive, IL for 44 years, retiring in 2007.  He was also a member of Livingston Lions Club, an avid bowler & fisherman, & he loved baseball & the St. Louis Cardinals.

He is survived by his wife -  Doris Lynn Hollaway of Livingston, IL;  two daughters -  Laurie Howell of Collinsville, IL,  &  Judy Kirksey of Staunton, IL;  two sons -  Charles Hollaway of Missouri,  &  Jason Boeck of Kansas;  numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren;  a brother -  Leon (Sonaj) Hollaway of Mt. Olive, IL;  three step children -  Art (Jennifer) Barnes of Festus, MO,  Charlotte Barnes of Livingston, IL,  &  Billy Barnes of Livingston, IL;  a son-in-law -  Mike Schaefer of East Alton, IL;  & numerous nieces & nephews also survive.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter -  Louise Pollard;  his first wife -  Willie;  several brothers & sisters;  &  a step daughter -  Mary Schaefer.

There will be no visitation.  A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL, with Pastor David Lindgens officiating.  

Memorials are suggested to either OSF Hospice or to the family.
