Charles H. "Chip" Lane

Charles H. “Chip” Lane, 76 of Staunton, Illinois died at his residence on Sunday, October 27, 2019. Born February 3, 1943 in Blue Island, Illinois, he was a son of the Late Mr. & Mrs. Harold G. Lane. He married Sandra Lynn Thompson on October 29, 1977 in Palos Park, Illinois and she survives. He worked as a Truck Driver for many years. He also served as a Cook County Sheriff’s Deputy for 11 years. “Chip” enjoyed hunting with his bird dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Lane of Staunton, IL; 3 Children, Natalie Moore (companion John Mathenia) of Coffeen, IL; Charlene Lane of Oak Lawn, IL; and Sara Cauley (fiancé John Knowles) of Staunton, IL; 8 Grandchildren, Amanda (Michael) Kampwerth, Brittany (John) Wilson, Randi Jackson, Henry Kobiela, Lauren Moore, Erin Cauley, Hannah Moore, and Michael Miller; 4 Great Grandchildren, Carter Wilson, Sylvia Kampwerth, Kaiden Jackson, and Oliver Wilson; 1 Sister, Patricia (Steve) Altman. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Sister, Carol Peterson.

The family will greet friends on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 2 to 5 PM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton.
