Beverly Sue Beyer

Beverly Sue Beyer, 75, of Staunton, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Staunton Health & Rehab Center in Staunton, IL.  She was born January 10, 1949 in Litchfield, IL, the daughter of the late Melvin & Dorothy (Jones) Beyer.  She was a 1967 graduate of Staunton High School.

After high school, Beverly entered the workforce, where she was employed by the Secretary of State's Office for more than 40 years.

She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary & served one term as the State President of that organization.  She was elected as Staunton Township Clerk.  She inherited her passion for politics from her mother, which led her to become an active member of the Macoupin County Democratic party & serve as a precinct committeeman for Macoupin County for many years.

During her free time Beverly enjoyed bowling & was a member of several different bowling teams.  She took pleasure in attending meetings & events for the various organizations in which she was a member.  Beverly was known for making friends wherever she went.  She loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals play!

She was a loyal member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Staunton, IL.

She is survived by her aunt -  Imogene Spudic of Georgia;  & many cousins, second cousins, third cousins, & many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents -  Melvin & Dorothy Beyer;  her grandparents -  Ralph & Bertha Jones,  &  Emil & Ethel Beyer;  & by several aunts, uncles, & cousins.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL.  Memorials are suggested to either St. Paul United Church of Christ in Staunton, IL, or to the Staunton Education Foundation.  These memorial donations may be forwarded to Williamson Funeral Home, 108 W. Henry St., Staunton, IL  62088.
