Betty Jane (Reed) Schuette

Betty Jane Schuette, 76, of Staunton, IL, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO.  She was born September 28, 1949 in Alton, IL, the daughter of the late Clyde L. & Jane (Harrington) Reed.  She married Robert T. Schuette on January 20, 1968 at the Alton Church of God in Alton, IL & he survives.

Betty graduated from Civic Memorial High School in Bethalto, IL with the Class of 1967.  She was employed as Office Manager with the Chevrolet Dealership in Staunton, IL for many years, retiring in 2016.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, playing cards, cooking, visiting casinos, & traveling.

She is survived by her husband -  Robert T. Schuette of Staunton, IL;  two sons -  Eric (Dena) Schuette  &  Jason (Bridget) Schuette;  her grandchildren -  Cody Wiles,  Conner (Jessie) Wiles,  Cole Schuette,  Jaren (Molly) Schuette,  &  Savannah (fiance' Zell Wallace);  great grandchildren -  London Wiles,  Carson Wiles,  &  Emersyn Wiles;  one sister -  Judy (Jack) Landreth;  & many nieces, nephews, & dear friends also survive.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 AM on Monday, June 8, 2026 at Net Community Church in Staunton, IL.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 8, 2026 at Net Community Church in Staunton, IL, with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL.  

Memorials are suggested to either Net Community Church of Staunton or to the local chapter of Meals on Wheels.
