Bernard Clardy Obituary

Bernard D. Clardy, 84, of Bethalto, IL, passed away at 12:25 PM on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Meridian Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, IL.  He was born May 30, 1940 in Springfield, IL, the son of the late Woodrow Wilson & Lillian (Heinemeier) Clardy.  He married Kathryn (Booth) Clardy on March 24, 1962 in Livingston, IL & she survives.

Bernie was a truck driver for Amoco Oil in Wood River, IL & a member of Local #525.  He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran, a lifelong Dodgers baseball fan, & enjoyed fishing & gardening.

He is survived by his wife -  Kathryn Clardy of Bethalto, IL;  three sons -  Bernard Clardy Jr. of Collinsville, IL,  Brian (Julie) Clardy of Jerseyville, IL,  &  Brett Clardy of Woodburn, IL;  one daughter -  Brandy Carter of Bunker Hill, IL;  12 grandchildren;  18 great grandchildren;  one brother -  Ron (Helen) Clardy of Staunton, IL;  two sisters -  Linda (Wally) Engelke of Florida,  &  Judy (John) Cignetti of Florida;  several nieces & nephews also survive.

Visitation from 9 to 11 AM on Monday, April 21, 2025 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 21, 2025 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL, with Pastor Nancy Hubert officiating. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL.  Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children`s Research Hospital.
