Bernard Lee Barnard

Bernard Lee Barnard, 91, of Prairietown, IL, passed away at 8:04 AM on Friday, October 31, 2025 at Alhambra Rehab & Healthcare Center in Alhambra, IL.  He was born December 23, 1933 in Eldorado, IL, the son of the late John Allen & Bonnie (Reed) Barnard.  He married Shirley Jean Miller on October 6, 1955 & she passed away on January 10, 2024.

Bernie was employed as a machinist at Owens-Illinois Glassworks in Alton, IL for many years.  He was a U.S. Army veteran, & a huge supporter of Adopt-A-Pet in Benld, IL.  He enjoyed gardening, especially growing tomatoes.

He is survived by three children -  Michael (Sheli) Barnard of Moro, IL,  Bonnie (Eric) Oliphant of Worden, IL,  &  Garrick Barnard of the Philippines;  four grandchildren;  & three great grandchildren.  Besides his wife & parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter -  Brenda Ramsey;  & one grandson -  Jason Brooks.

No services are scheduled.  Memorials are suggested to Adopt-A-Pet of Benld, IL.
