Anneliese Fuchs, 101, of Staunton, IL passed away Friday, April 29, 2022, at Heritage Health in Staunton, IL. Born May 21, 1920, in Saxony, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Max & Frieda Anna (Richter) Ritschel. She married Raymond Fuchs on February 25, 1945, at St. Paul Evangelical Church in Staunton, and he passed away on January 17, 1984.
For ten years after high school, Ann worked as a clerk at the Mt. Olive Milling Company (1939 to 1949). Being a housewife and mother followed in time. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Staunton, IL. She was an active member of the Women’s fellowship at her church and ministered to shut-ins through her church. In addition, she enjoyed growing plants and flowers, volunteering at the Food Pantry, and working at the election polls. She graduated from Staunton High School in 1939.
She is survived by her son, Alan (Cathy) Fuchs of Breese, IL, 2 grandchildren, Erica (Shane) Darling and Aaron (Susan) Fuchs, 3 great grandchildren, Allen Ethan Darling, Madelaine Darling, and Harmon Fuchs.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 brother, Ernest Ritschel and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Norman & Anne Fuchs, Edwards Fuchs, and Melvin & Marilyn Fuchs.
No services will be held. Private interment of her cremains will be held at a later date.
