Allan Joseph “AL” Scheller, 63, of Mt. Olive, Illinois, passed away at his residence on Monday, June 15, 2020. He was born November 20, 1956 to the late Estel & Margaret (Kilduff) Scheller. He married the love of his life on January 10, 1976, Lori (Loretta Ingle) Scheller; she survives along with their daughter, Angie (Sean) Abernathy; grandsons – Michael & Ty Abernathy; adopted son & daughter – Kevin & Tricia Carroll; siblings – Bev (Frank) Laurent, Bill Scheller, Dianne (Terry) Zarr, & Nick (Aimee) Scheller; sister-inlaw – Gwen (Ted) Caldwell; nieces – Amanda (Bryan) Pfieffer, Beth (Evan) Baugh, Monica (John) Boyer, Natalie (Cory) McCunney, Jessica (Craig) Ulrich, Stephanie Buzick, Brandi (Josh) Fenton; nephews – Dustin Scheller & Austin (Brittni) Ingle; great nieces & great nephews – Lexi & Braden Pfieffer, Autumn Baugh, Dalton & Taylor Honnies, Gabby & Logan Boyer, Max & Eve McCunney, Becca Scheller, Odin Ulrich, Hedi & Emily Buzick, Christian, Syler, & Lydia Fenton, & Carson Ingle; many cousins; his little B’s & extended family of Laborers’ Local #338. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son – Mike Scheller; grandson – Sean Abernathy; granddaughter – Tori Carroll; in-laws – Ed Ingle & Mary (Lamar) Urban; brother-in-law – Dave Ingle; & a niece – Michelle Caldwell. Al was a Proud Union Laborer out of Laborers’ Local #338 for 44 years. He retired in 1999. After retiring he dedicated his life to his grandsons, family, & friends. He enjoyed hunting & fishing & telling wonderful stories with his fantastic memory. He was known for his big heart, orneriness, & wonderful sense of humor. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice.
