Alan D. Best

Alan D. Best, 71 of Staunton, IL passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. Born April 13, 1949 in Staunton, IL, he was a son of the Late Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth & Elizabeth “Betty” (Frame) Best. He married Celia Rose Ashley on June 15, 1972 and she passed away on December 19, 2020. He worked as a Machinist at Olin Corporation in East Alton, IL for many years. Alan was a Vietnam veteran, serving as a Radio-Repairman in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Staunton, a Lifetime member of the Staunton VFW Post #1241, and the Machinist Union in East Alton, IL. 
He is survived by 2 Daughters - Niki (Steve) Anderson of Staunton, Illinois, and Angie (Keith) Dal Pozzo of Staunton, Illinois, 2 Granddaughters - Aundrea Best of Staunton, Illinois and Madison Best of Staunton, Illinois, 3 Brothers - Kenny Best of Decatur, Illinois, Don (Linda) Best of Staunton, Illinois and Randy Best of Sandpoint, Idaho. Several Nieces & Nephews also survive.
 Besides his wife & parents, he was preceded in death by –2 Brothers, Brian Best & Russell Best, 1 Sister -Janet Best, 1 Niece, Abby Best.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 11 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton with Rev. Nancy Hubert officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Family.
