Vernon E. "Butch" Striegel Jr.

Vernon E. “Butch” Striegel Jr., 57, of Staunton, Illinois passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 at Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton, Illinois. Born October 11, 1961 in Litchfield, Illinois, he was a son of Mrs. Wanda Striegel & the late Vernon E. Striegel Sr. He married Peggy S. Hughes on July 3, 1997 in Carlinville, Illinois and she survives. He worked as a Coal Miner at the Monterey Mine in Albers, Illinois for many years. Butch was a member of the Staunton Masonic Lodge #177 AF & AM.

He is survived by his Wife, Peggy S. Striegel of Staunton, Illinois; Step-Daughter, Nicole (Tristain) Loveless of Gillespie, Illinois; Mother, Wanda Striegel of Staunton, Illinois; 3 Brothers, Randy (Leatha) Striegel of Staunton, Illinois; Gary (Lynne) Striegel of Gillespie, Illinois; Richard Striegel (Dawn Gockel) of Staunton, Illinois; 1 Sister, Suzie Bruhn (Dan Hering) of Staunton, Illinois; 3 Sisters-In-Law, Carolyn Hughes of Maplewood, Missouri; Janette (Pat) Mueller of Troy, Michigan; Chrissy (Danny) Ray of Staunton, Illinois. Several Nieces & Nephews also survive. Besides his father, Butch was preceded in death by 1 Nephew, Jake Streeb.

There will be no visitation. Private Memorial Services on Monday, April 22, 2019 at the Masonic Lodge in Staunton, Illinois. Private interment of cremains later in Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, IL.  Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to Shriner's Hospital for Children.
