Richard D. “Cutter” Williams, 63 of Staunton passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. Born September 28, 1954, he was a son of the late Mr. & Mrs. David & Mary (Peters) Williams. He married Jackie Fowler on June 10, 1978 and later divorced. He worked as a machinist at Georgia Pacific in Mt. Olive, IL; Tubular Steel in Staunton; and at McDaniel’s Trucking in Roxana, IL. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Staunton; Concordia Hall of Staunton; and the Steelworkers Union. Rick loved spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by 1 son, R.J. Williams of Staunton, IL; 2 grandchildren, Korbyn and Taryn Williams; 4 sisters, Mary Katherine (Dave) Kirkwood of Staunton, IL; Sandy (Dan) Trobaugh of Orlando, FL; Trish Baum of Staunton, IL; Diane (Tom) Schmidt of Staunton, IL; 1 brother, Don Williams of Staunton, IL. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Remains were cremated. A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM at the Outside Pavilion at Concordia Hall in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to the family.
