Marilyn J. (Simberger) Maroso

Marilyn J. Maroso, 86, of Staunton, Illinois, died at her home on Sunday, May 26, 2019. She was born on January 23, 1933, in Litchfield, Illinois. She was the daughter of Ted and Esther Simberger.

She married Delmo J. Maroso on August 4, 1956, in Staunton, Illinois.

She graduated from Staunton High School and afterwards worked at Shell Oil Company for several years. Later, she received a degree in elementary education from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She taught in the Staunton Elementary School as a substitute teacher and coordinated the gifted education program for Macoupin County for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Richard Simberger.

She is survived by her husband and three children: John, Ann, and Amy.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to Adopt-A-Pet in Benld, Illinois, or the Staunton Public Library.
