Marilan Jean Weber, 71, of Staunton, IL passed away at her residence in Staunton on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Born December 23, 1945 in Worden, IL, she was a daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Harry & Dora (Bononi) Schlechte. She married Robert L. Weber in Hamel, IL and he survives. She worked as a bookkeeper at First National Bank in Staunton. Marilan was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton and the Staunton Lion’s Club. She enjoyed walking her dogs Lucy & Sophie, singing in the Church Choir, traveling, and volunteering at His Service Station in Staunton.
She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Weber of Staunton, IL; 3 daughters, Libby L. Weber (Brett Gunnison) of Seal Beach, CA; Carrie Viehweg of Staunton, IL; and Amy Weber of Livingston, IL; 1 grandchild, Annan Gunnison of Seal Beach, CA; 3 brothers, Harry (Donna) Schlechte of Glen Carbon, IL; Arvel (Janice) Schlechte of Worden, IL; and Richard (Sandy) Schlechte of Edwardsville, IL; 2 sisters, Darla (Roger) Ashley of Staunton, IL and Linda (Christopher) Jones of Maryville, IL; 1 aunt, Marion Martintoni of Livingston, IL. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 sister, Carol Fritzsche and 1 brother, Floyd Schlechte.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church and again from 9 to 10:45 AM on Friday. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Kelly Mitteis officiating. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
