John Paul Boyer

John Paul Boyer, 77 of Staunton, IL passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 at Heritage Health in Staunton. Born January 1, 1942 in Old Mines, MO, he was a son of the Late Mr. & Mrs. Clarence & Dorothy (Trokey) Boyer. He married Rebecca Seger on May 28, 1966 in East St. Louis, IL and she passed away on September 30, 2006. John served his country in the U.S. Army from 1962 – 1965. He worked as a Steelworker at LaClede Steel in Alton, IL for many years. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Staunton and the Staunton Knights of Columbus #2197.

He is survived by 3 Children - John Paul (Monica) Boyer – Staunton, Illinois; Susan Lynn (Juan) Cruz – Los Llanos, Puerto Rico; James Joseph Boyer – Staunton, Illinois; 6 Grandchildren - Logan (Laynie) Boyer – Colorado Springs, Colorado; Gabrielle Boyer – Mt. Olive, Illinois; Dalton Honnies – Staunton, Illinois; Taylor Honnies – Staunton, Illinois; Megan Boyer – Staunton, Illinois; Ashley Boyer – Staunton, Illinois; 1 Great Grandchild - Lincoln Boyer – Colorado Springs, Colorado; 1 Brother - Kenny (Diana) Boyer – Maryland Heights, Missouri. Many Nieces & Nephews also survive. Besides his wife & parents, John was preceded in death by –5 Brothers - Charles, James, Larry, Richard, & Michael and 2 Sisters - Kathryn Thomas & Sharon Mitchell.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 6, 2019 from 9 to 11 AM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with Father George Radosevich officiating. The Staunton Military Honor Guard will conduct Military Graveside rites at Williamson Funeral Home immediately following services.  Memorials are suggested to the Family or to Heritage Health Activity Department in Staunton.
