Elizabeth D. “Betty” Dustmann, 85 of Prairietown, Illinois passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Cedar Hurst Assisted Living in Edwardsville, Illinois. Born April 17, 1933 in Alton, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Bert Elfgen. She married Kenneth A. Dustmann on February 4, 1967 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Prairietown and he passed away on May 2, 2012. She worked as school teacher at Staunton Elementary School in Staunton and later retired from St. Peter’s Lutheran School in Prairietown. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and the ladies aid. Betty was an avid sports fan, especially the St. Louis Blues and the St. Louis Rams where she had season tickets for many years. She enjoyed quilting and traveling. Betty graduated from SIU-Edwardsville.
She is survived by 2 sons, Rodney (Cheryl) Dustmann of Prairietown, IL and Brett (Casey) Dustmann of Prairietown, IL; 6 grandchildren, Jacob Dustmann, Brandon (Jaime) Koleske, Kate Koleske, Nicole Koleske, Meghan Dustmann, and Shane Dustmann; 6 great grandchildren, Caiden, Braxton, Bryson, Peyton, Hailey, and Isabelle; 1 sister, Marlene Watson of Collinsville, IL. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded by her husband and parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM on Friday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Prairietown. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Dale Skeesick officiating. Burial will be held at Prairietown Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to either St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or St. Peter’s Lutheran School.
