Dwight H. “Butch” Hatfill, 64, of Staunton, Illinois died Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Heritage Health in Staunton. Born January 27, 1955 in Vandalia, Illinois, he was a son of the Late Mr. & Mrs. Harold & Inez (Getz) Hatfill. He married June Travis on July 22, 1974 and she survives. Butch worked as a Meat Cutter at Kroger and Capri IGA in Litchfield, IL for many years. He was a member of the Grocers Union Local #655 of Belleville, IL. Butch was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
He is survived by his Wife, June Hatfill of Staunton, IL; 1 Son, Greg (Chad Sherwood) Hatfill of East Alton, IL; 1 Daughter, Dawn (John) Claro of Gillespie, IL; 2 Granddaughters, Kaila (Nick) Smith of Mt. Clare, IL & Kiersten Claro of Gillespie, IL; 1 Sister-in-Law, Linda Prante of Staunton, IL; 3 Brothers, Paul (Margrete) Bolin of Sorento, IL; Gary (Mary) Bolin of New Douglas, IL, and Mike Hatfill of Savannah, GA; 2 Sisters, Janet Hetrick of Carlisle, PA & Gayle (Jack) Fleming of Leroy, MI. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother-in-Law, Brad Hetrick and 1 Sister, Judy Fritz.
The family will greet friends from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Remains will be cremated following visitation. Memorials are suggested to the family.
