Donald W. Randle, 88 of Staunton, Illinois passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Heritage Health in Staunton. Born June 5, 1929 in Hamel, Illinois, he was a son of the Late Mr. & Mrs. George & Emma (Aldrup) Randle. He married Ethel Alice Lovejoy on August 6, 1949 and she survives. Don served in the U.S. Army during World War II from June of 1946 through November of 1947 where he was the recipient of the Victory Medal and Army of Occupational Medal- Japan. He was a lifetime member of the Staunton VFW Post #1241 and the Worden Methodist Church in Worden, Illinois. Don was a very meticulous and dedicated employee. He worked a variety of jobs, including railroad work for ITS, truck driver for both Lebra and Cassens Auto Transport, as well as a private coal hauling service which he and his wife maintained for several years. In 1953 he was hired on with Shell Oil Refinery as a Forman on the Canning Line. He worked at Shell for 35 years, retiring in 1988.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Randle; 2 sons, Dennis (Zina) Randle and Gordon Randle; 1 daughter, Donna Randle; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer Hayes, Matt Randle, Kara Adler, Nicole (Tristian) Loveless, Michael Mrazek, Jennifer (Gustav) Mrazek-Viehweg, Joshua Jones, and Brendan Sesata; 7 great grandchildren, Danika Hayes, Chandler Hayes, Lexi Loveless, Samantha Loveless, Taylor Loveless, Austin Viehweg, and Adam Varwig; 1 great great grandchild, Shane Sagez; 1 brother, Merle (Ina) Randle; 1 sister-in-law, Lee Randle. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Norman, Vernon, and Cecil Randle.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 AM on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with Rev. Jeremy Wood officiating. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. The Staunton Military Honor Guard will conduct graveside military rites. Memorials are suggested to either the Staunton Food Pantry or to the Staunton VFW Post #1241.
