Mike McBride, 78, of Staunton, Illinois passed away Monday, August 12, 2013 at Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton.  Born May 10, 1935 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of the late Joseph and Clara (McInery) McBride. He married Verda Odorizzi on January 21, 1978 in Edwardsville, IL and she survives. He was the owner/operator of McBride Chevrolet in Staunton, Illinois from 1969 to 1992. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Staunton, and a past member of Staunton Knights of Columbus # 2197. 
He is survived by his wife, Verda McBride of Staunton; 3 sons, Tim (Tammy) McBride of Staunton, Mike McBride of Staunton, and Robert (Sheri) McBride of Staunton, IL; 3 step children, Mark (Heather) Fenwick of Hillsboro, Michael (Shannon) Fenwick of Mt. Olive, and Julie Tomso of Staunton; 3 grandchildren, Shawn McBride of Staunton and Grace & Cullen McBride of Staunton; 9 step grandchildren, Doug Guennewig,Nick Fenwick, Marissa Fenwick, Mitchell Fenwick, Konner Fenwick, Kellan Fenwick, Micah Fenwick, Krista Tomso, and Hunter Fenwick; 2 step great grandchildren, Kylie Tomso and Kenlie Gray; a sister, Helen Heise of Litchfield. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joseph and Jim McBride, a sister, Mary Nanette Johnston, a step great grandson in infancy, Mark Tyler Tomso, a brother-in-law, Leland Johnston, and a daughter-in-law, Lois McBride.

Friends may call from 10 AM to 12 noon on Saturday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton. A Memorial Service will follow at 12 noon with Rev. George Radosevich officiating. Interment of cremains will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to the Lois McBride Memorial Foundation, St. Michael’s Catholic Church or School, or to the McBride Family. (map/driving directions)
