Thelma Marie Macarthy, 83, of Staunton, Illinois passed away at her residence in Staunton, Illinois on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. Born February 3, 1933 in Colchester, Illinois, she was a daughter of the Late Mr. & Mrs. Chester Bartlett. She married Ronald Galliher in October of 1955, and he passed away in April of 2008. She then married Edwin “Mac” Macarthy on July 3, 2010 and he survives. She was a seamstress for many years. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Staunton, IL and was very active in the Ladies Golf Association at the Staunton Country Club. She volunteered at His Service Station in Staunton. She was also an active volunteer with Rankin-Jordan Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

 She is survived by her husband, Edwin “Mac” Macarthy of Staunton, IL; 2 Daughters, Rhonda (Ken) Galliher Pape of Edwardsville, IL and Sandy (Ian) Parton of Pittsfield, IL; 2 Sons, David (Penny Manary) Galliher of Ava, IL and Dan (Tammy) Galliher of Bethalto, IL; 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; 21 step grandchildren; 15 step great grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Dorothy Snyder of Burnside, IL and Faye Knapp of Visolia, CA. Besides her previous husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 brother and 2 sisters.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 AM on Friday, December 23, 2016 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM with Rev. George Radosevich officiating. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to St. Michaels’ Catholic Church Arch-Diocese Assessment Fund.
