Susan Cumberland Obituary

Susan Naomi Reger Cumberland passed from this world at 8:29 am, February 13, 2018. She was most recently a resident of Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra, IL. She was born on March 8, 1965 at Scott Air Force Base in St. Clair County, IL. She is the youngest daughter of William Morgan Reger III and Elizabeth Roena Hill Reger Bruce. She was raised in the Midwest and graduated from High School in Staunton, IL. She attended and graduated from Robert Morris College in Carthage, IL, with a diploma from the Secretarial Program and specialized in word processing. She began her secretarial career at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. She served a full-time mission for her church in San Diego, CA. She is preceded in death by her father, Stepfather, Maurice Bernard Bruce and nephew, Patrick Russell McMullin. She is survived by her mother, her stepmother, Bette Salovich Ewing Reger, her siblings Will Reger (Mary), Joe Reger, Chris McMullin, her daughter Tanya Mei Cumberland Gheen (Nathan), and several nieces and nephews. She married Donald Jerome Cumberland in the LDS Washington D. C. Temple in Kensington, MD. Her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has provided her with many opportunities to learn and serve as a teacher. She spent years as a temple patron, her greatest joy in life.

 

Private graveside services were held at Staunton City Cemetery.
