Madisen Nicol Bertels, 17 of Staunton, Illinois passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017. Born June 4, 2000 in Alton, Illinois, she was a daughter of Dean Bertels and Cassy Loflin. Madisen was a Senior at Staunton High School where she was an Honor Roll Student, member of the Homecoming Court, and played on the Staunton High School Girls Golf, Softball, and Basketball teams. She was planning on majoring in Architectural Design.

She is survived by her mother, Cassy Loflin of Staunton, IL; her father, Dean Bertels of Dorsey, IL; 2 brothers, Dallas & Titan Bertels of Staunton, IL; longtime boyfriend, Brylie Hassard of Staunton, IL paternal grandfather, Allen Dean Bertels of Dorsey, IL; maternal grandparents, Glen & Beverly Loflin of Staunton, IL. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, JoAnn Bertels and great grandfather, Roy Cooper.

Public visitation will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 10 AM to 6 PM at the Staunton High School New Gym. Memorials are suggested to the Family. A Private Family funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with Rev. George Gude officiating. The Bertels family would like everyone to come and dress as Hailey and Madisen would know you.
