Jessie Frey, 102 of Staunton, Illinois passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Alhambra Care Center in Alhambra, Illinois. Born November 20, 1914 in Gillespie, Illinois, she was a daughter of the Late Mr. & Mrs. Norman Campbell. She married Will Henry Frey on April 26, 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1970. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 50 years, working mostly at Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton, Illinois. Jessie was a past member of the First General Baptist Church of Staunton; past President of Division 14 Licensed Practical Nurses Association; and past Boy Scout Leader and Girl Scout Leader; and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by 1 Daughter, Gloria Frey of Alhambra, IL; 5 Grandchildren, Kim (Don) Knoche of Bloomington, IL; Joan (Vic) Arrington of Elk Grove, IL; James (Teresa) Frey of Huntsville, OH; Michael (Deborah) Frey of Taylorville, IL; and Matthew (Dana) Frey of Cottage Grove, MN; 7 Great Grandchildren, Taylor Knoche of Philadelphia, PA; Kaelyn Knoche of West Chester, PA; Camryn Knoche of Bloomington, IL; Benjamin Frey of Huntsville, OH; Leah Rivard of Lacrosse, WI; Colin Arrington of Elk Grove, IL; and Kara Frey of Taylorville, IL. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 3 Sons, Charles Frey, Robert Frey, and Edward Frey (infant); 4 Brothers, Norman Campbell, Henry Campbell, Duncan Campbell, and Hugh Campbell; 1 Granddaughter, Melissa Frey.
Friends may call from 10 AM to 11 AM on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with Rev. Debbie Jo Atkins officiating. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to Friends of Community Memorial Hospital Foundation.
