James Robert “Ernie” Sitko, 63, of Staunton, Illinois, passed away at 7:30 PM on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Heritage Health in Staunton. He was born June 6, 1954 in Staunton to the late Anton “Tony” & Amelia “Millie” (Szarzec) Sitko.  Ernie attended Staunton Catholic Grade School & graduated from Staunton High School where he excelled in track.  He also attended Illinois State University.

Ernie worked at Mr. T’s in Staunton, & was an avid Chicago Cubs & University of Illinois fan.

Survivors include brothers Dave, Steve (Sue), & Mark (Cheryl) Sitko, five nephews, four great nieces, & one great nephew.  Ernie is also survived by many special friends, including Mike & Rita Tranter, Dawn Gockel, & Freddie & Lisa Brenzel.

Memorials are suggested to St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton.
