Helen Straub, 96, of Staunton, Illinois passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Heritage Health in Staunton. Born April 27, 1921 in Sheldon, Wisconsin, she was a daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. John Widmar. She married Fred Straub in May of 1941, and he passed away in November of 1992. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Gillespie, Illinois and the Baptist Church of Staunton.

She is survived by 4 sons, John (Jackie) Straub of Pace, FL; David (Mildred) Straub of Staunton, IL; Robert Straub of Carlinville, IL; Randy (Laura) Straub of Staunton, IL; and 1 daughter, Sally (Darryl) Mayhew of Troy, IL; 19 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death 1 daughter, Peggy Forsythe; 2 brothers and 5 sisters.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 AM on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. A Memorial Service will follow at 11 AM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with rev. Clint Braman officiating. Memorials are suggested to either the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Family for a memorial garden.
