Alma F. Sawyer, 88, of Staunton, Illinois passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Heritage Health in Staunton, Illinois. Born January 14, 1928 in Springfield, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Harbour. She married James Dale Sawyer on March 9, 1946 in Carlinville, Illinois and he passed away on February 20, 1996. She worked at Diamonds Restaurant in Staunton, Illinois as a custodian/kitchen help. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Gillespie, IL. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Jean (husband Harry) LaRosa of Staunton, IL; 1 son, Jim (wife Patty) Sawyer of Staunton, IL; 4 grandchildren, Kristy (husband John) Pfalzgraf of Staunton, IL; Brad (wife Denise) LaRosa of Staunton, IL; Nathaniel (wife Carolyn) Sawyer of Staunton, IL; and Whitney (husband Eric) Clark of O'Fallon, MO; 5 great grandchildren, Jacob, Lydia, Emma, Samantha, and Raynee. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 brother, Richard Harbour and 1 sister, Dolly Angelo. 

Friends may call from10 AM to 12 noon on Monday, August 22, 2016 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Funeral services will follow at 12 noon at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with Rev. George Radosevich officiating. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.
